Surroundings

For travelers who wants to visit Tuscany, we recommend to take advantage of the strategic location of the hostel and use it as a base to explore the surroundings of the province of Lucca and the Toscana region.
Both with your own means or by public transport, it will be easy to visit in a day places of unquestionable charm as Florence, Pisa, the Cinque Terre or the quarries of the famous white Carrara marble.

The province of Lucca offers to tourists many other places of great artistic and naturalistic beauty, such as the park on the river Serchio, the aristocratic villas in the countryside, as well as the oil and wine roads that adorn the beautiful hills around Lucca.

As a day trip, it is easy to visit the Garfagnana region and the medieval town of Barga or Castelvecchio, where the great poet Pascoli lived, and still the baths of Bagni di Lucca, the Museum of Plaster Statuettes and Emigration in Coreglia Antelminelli, the Media Valle area with Borgo a Mozzano and the fascinating Devil's Bridge, Celle di Pescaglia where there is located the ancestral home of Giacomo Puccini and the Museo del Castagno in Colognora.

Moving to the coast, about 20 km from Lucca, there are the beaches of the Versilia Coast and the cities of Viareggio, famous for its carnival, and Forte dei Marmi, the medieval villages of Camaiore and Pietrasanta which arise along the Via Francigena, the lake Massaciucoli that inspired so much beautiful music to the Maestro Puccini, the Apuan Alps and the marble quarries.

On request, we can organize tours for individuals or groups. For more information, please contact us.
